Lots of people are afraid of dogs. The fear is quite often triggered when we're younger. Maybe you were enjoying a game with a dog and suddenly there were bare teeth and loud barks. If that happens when you were older and wiser, no worries, you'd likely not have an issue. But when you're younger, almost instantly your mind is trained to think that dogs are not as nice as you thought they were.
Since we learn fast when we put our mind to it, this impression sticks with us. Whether or not we can't work out why when we think about it rationally.
So what can you do to reduce your fear of dogs? Deep down, most of them just want to make friends with you and be fed dog treats every now and then.
You could tell yourself that "dogs are friendly" but you and I know that you won't actually believe yourself. Above all as it's almost 100% certain there's a very loud voice in your head screaming (in true pantomime fashion) "oh no they aren't!"
The next step is to get a little bit closer to dogs so that you see them but they can't see you or have it jump up at you and smother you with muddy paw prints. Pictures work well for this stage. Unless you're truly paranoid, you're certain that a picture is really just some ink on a page or pixels on your PC monitor. Most people, even if their initial reaction is "no way", get on OK with this stage and you'll probably find yourself being a little less panicky at the thought of encountering a dog in real life.
But all that is quite tedious and can take what seems like forever. What do you do if your kids absolutely must have a dog and there's no way you can talk them out of it?
A much quicker way to combat things such as a phobia of dogs is by using hypnosis. This works quickly and easily. And no-one but you need ever know you're using it since you can instantly download a hypnosis MP3 for fear of dogs and listen to it and just let your fear disappear.
